Harmon's Notes:
This was mostly custom work, not required by the kit. My heel cap and key are made of
striped figured ebony from Michael. The wedge at the base of the instrument is not
necessary either, but it covers up the seam, and adds a nice accent.
Joe's comments:
Since the bottom is slightly arched, you need to be careful how you route it in order to
get the same depth as the top. I also made a wedge-shaped end binding, but much narrower
than Harmon's (his is shown in the picture). Many luthiers use a narrow strip.
